I think the target audience for a teen drama are teens (13-18). My reason for this, is that they automatically directed at a teenage audience due to it being called a teen drama, also the fact the main characters are all of the age as the audience it is directed at. I also feel that a lot of them are usually set in schools or can relate to the viewers in what they have experienced as a teenager. This would therefore make them more intrigued and more likely to want to watch it or like it. Also a lot of the time they have big teen stars starring it which will attract the younger audience to watch it.
Why do you think they are target audience- what has your research found out to make you think this?
My research shows that they are my target audience, due to the fact that they seem to be one of the only age groups interested in teen dramas. For instance people in the older categories, do not enjoy these films, and if they do it would be teen dramas which were made in the time when they were teens. But however, quite a few people of the ages from 20-30 enjoyed them a lot more than we expected too, mainly due to the fact they weren't teenagers that long ago either.
Do all audiences like the same teen dramas
No, they do not. In fact there is a very varied opinion on what kind of teen dramas audiences like, twilight which is a romance, mean girls which is a chick flick and super bad which is a comedy. so the type of teen drama preferred varies, especially due to the fact they are always more than one drama. But they also get split in to the two groups and one of them is high school drama which most the american teen dramas are. But however some people preferred teen dramas such as kidulthood, which is a british teen drama, which further expands the type of teen dramas the audience like.
