Usually if you're with an instrument instrument instrument instrument instrument instrument in a studio you choose "Empty Project", this allows you to start a new project.

These options allow you to plug in your own instrument and this allows you to record it and even record your own voice through your own microphone or the Macs microphone.After all of these click you arrive at the main menu of the program, you see a timeline on the top right corner, you can see an amp for a guitar or a bass, an audio file for vocals and drums which is done automatically, and you can change your drummer by clicking on the profile picture which in this case is Ian, also you can switch between music genres, (Rock, Alternative, Songwriter and R&B)
You can start recording your song by clicking the red button (record button) and this records your song, likewise you can do this with guitar and vocals.
In this program you can switch between different amplifiers to reach different sounds.
After youre finished with your song you click, and save as to save your project into your hard drive.
