3 A Title Sequence

A title sequence is a method of presenting the title and credits of a movie. Title sequences are placed at the beginning of a movie, and follow a similar theme to that of the movie, thus setting the genre and establishing characters or possible events. As technology has evolved, the presentation of title sequences have become more elaborate and visually advanced. There are now 4 sub categories of title sequences:

      -Text on a black background
  1. -Text on still images
  2. -Text over video clips
  3. -Animation

As a title sequence is placed at the beginning of the movie, one of its aims is to hook the audience, and make them interested in the film. To do this, a title sequence will include:
  1. Clear vivid graphics
  2. Quick cuts
  3. Relevant music
  4. References to characters or famous cast members
  5. Have some reference to storyline or the opening of the movie
