Saul Bass was an American graphic designer and title sequence professional and Academy Award-winning film-maker, he is best known for his design on animated motion picture title sequences.
Saul Bass was the most amazing producer of the title sequences, working on such films as, North by Northwest, Anatomy of a Murder and Goodfellas.
He originally trained as a graphic designer, and was commissioned by director Otto Preminger to put together a poster for his 1954 opera/musical.
Preminger was so impressed he asked him to create a title sequence too, and Bass went on to specialise in the area.
