How I cropped the images

So once my videos were compressed and flipped so they could be presented well .I wanted to show How I did this so this required screen shots however , I felt uploading the whole screen image was not necessary  when discussing the flipping of the video .

So I used http://www.picresize.com/ this allows you to resize , crop and Edit your pictures for free , I found the cropping very useful as it was user friendly and It was a free online service which does not save you pictures so this is always useful finically and securcity wise

How Rotate Video

Once I had compressed my videos , I had a little  predicament  , they were  portrait  when they needed to be landscape so appeared in the wrong way  around  when , I tried to upload it on the Blog .

So I used http://rotatemyvideo.net/. Due to

This service allowed me to roatate the video easily without having to re film and compress the videos again , so this was a vital tool . 

Compressing Vlogs

When Compressing my Vlogs at home I used a online tool called Clip Champ . Clip Champ's free online video converter lets you convert and compress videos to MP4, WMV or GIF. It works directly in your browser but your files never leave your computer. This was useful to me as I had to upload Video Blogs on my  experiences  of filming and editing , although Handbrake was not  user friendly enough for me to understand .Clip Champ has a very simple set up and is user friendly so everyone can use it .This is also a free service so it lets you do this online , signing up is only optional . This tool was very fast too and the fact you don't upload the  original  video is quite  interesting  . Overall I  would not of been able to complete my Blog in the right way if it was not  for this device. 

Sound list

We have decided to use the  Foley  sounds  available  to us on garage and as they can be easily be exported to final cut pro and they have many to chose from .

We chose  Refrigerator Door 1 as this is one of the less violent door slams and this was to show the door being closed in the shot of Loic leaving the  Bedroom  .


We used DoorSlam 8 as this was a bit more  louder  and violent , this gives us the effect that he is annoyed and is never  coming  back and also this is a front door so it will obviously be a bit louder than a bedroom door . This was used at the end of match cut when Loic was left the House .

Location success By Lloyd

Now we have filmed all our footage , we can discuss the Location success .

The House - 

This house allowed us to gain the whole idea that he is running away from the house . The fact nothing really fancy was in the room , gives us the sense he does not own much .So this was  successful  . 

The Bridge and Surrounding Area - 

The bridge allowed us to start showing the  transition  from Urban to Rural , the  bridge  gave a sense that he had been walking quite a while. The Bridge allowed us to gain some very good Birds Eye View Shots Of Loic walking and the area surrounding it was somewhat rural so this helped the  transition  . So this was  successful  . 

Hackney Estate - 

This allowed us to gain a more urban sense , this was a very small section of the filming as we just needed one shot , however this allowed us to gain a sense of the journey. So this was  Successful . 

Trafalgar  Square - 

Trafalgar   Square  helped us show a more urban  environmental  . We came across some complications such as a man trying to touch Loic and a homeless man who was offended. These were small issues which we  solved through conversation. This however gave us some  valuable  shots of Loic Walking. This also where we filmed the time lapse , this helped us show people rushing past Loic . not enough people walked by but this was  Successful . 

Piccadilly  Circus - 

Being very well lit due to the advertisements , this allowed us to gain some  emotional  close ups of Loic in some sort of deep thought , no disturbances happened . So this was  Successful .

Piccadilly  Market - 

The Market was very poorly lit , so this was a huge issue . This made our willing very unclear , This was less  successful  but the shots taken were well  executed .So this was  Successful .  

The last day of filming complete!

On the last Wednesday before half term we as a group went to Beth's house to redo the home scene that we had to do and that the turned out very successful and we also filmed the outside scenes in Hackney marshes so in the editing we can clearly go from the house to countryside and finally end in the city. So in conclusion all the filming is finally complete, so all that needs to be done is the post productions which we started a little bit but it needs a lot more work.

The Costume Success By Lloyd

Now we have filmed all our footage , we can discuss the costume success .

The Jogging Bottoms -
Jogging Bottoms are viewed as comfortable, so using these to run away in makes sense as he obviously thinking of being  comfortable and warm . The fact these were ripped it gives us a sense he was poor or abused perhaps , as you would want to be warm if you were running away.These help convey realism and Sympathy to the audience .

The Hoodie and Jacket -
A plain black Hoodie shows us that he is not the most well of as he is not wearing anything too fancy . The hoodie also viewed as  comfortable  and warm , so this also shows the realism .

The Backpack -

The backpack helps us to understand that he is not coming back and the fact he put so many vital items to him in it shows us that he is practical , so realism is conveyed . Also Sympathy is conveyed as the Backpack was Quite small and this shows us that he obviously does not own much .


Shoes -
These shoes look rather  comfortable  this shows us that he thought  about  what he was going to wear .

Overall this shows us that the  character   has thought about his outfit and wanted to e  comfortable  and warm . The fact he doesn't have much also conveys sympathy .

 

Final Day Of filming VlLOG

Here I discuss what went , well and what we could improve on our Final  day of filming and I discuss my opinion and contribution to the day .

Production and Studio

As Youth Dramas are unconventional , this means we are  in fact  a  independent  production , which we know do not have much money .Therefore we Made up our own  independent  studio and producers this due to the fact that  independent  companies like this are  usually  unheard of therefore we thought it would be easier to make one ourselves. We decided to call our  Production  'Lolo' productions this is a more playful name and runs of the  tongue  quite easily and is a play on Loic's name . The studios is named Group 16 studios , this was a nice name as it is the name we currently have and we have grown quite fond to it.

Footage Review Blog

We  reviewed the footage on the 9/2/15 , this was after our first two filming sessions had  commenced . This was very effcient as it revealed that the  the footage we had filmed during the second session was actually worthless as the ND filter was on .

In photography and optics, a neutral density filter or ND filter is a filter that reduces or modifies the intensity of all wavelengths or colors of light equally, giving no changes in hue of color rendition. It can be a colorless (clear) or grey filter. This made our footage appear with streaks in terrible colour , therefore made our clip look unprofessional .This is a lesson we will learn from as we will double check the settings on the camera before filming . 

Another issue we had was the shadows that appeared on the footage and we  couldn't gain a clear image .This was due to the room only having one  light-bulb  light . So  to resolve this next time we use a dedo lights . A dedolight is a patented, dimable and focusable small lighthead. It is outfitted with either a 12-Volt (100 W) oder 24-Volt (150 W) halogen lightbulb. They come with an ballast. This allows us to change the lighting to stop shadows for  different  shots , this be quite a useful tool . 

The footage from the first session was assessed and we began taking parts out that we didn't require ,such as when  members  of the public had  bothered  us .Like the instant when Loic was almost touched during our time lapse . Also things such as shots that were not taken properly such as when Loic was getting up , we decided that it made the film lag , as it was jumpy and gave it a really  unprofessional  look so this was removed . 

Technology and Skills Audit -Lloyd

Camera :This was key as this allowed us to film our shots and has a good quality screen, this was the most valuable piece of equipment as without this it  would not allow us to gain any footage of the high quality that was required to make a professional title  SequencesTripod:This allowed us to they reduce camera shake, and thus are instrumental in achieving maximum sharpness. Due to its three leg structure ,   allowed  us the professional quality required  .MEMORY CARDS/SD CARDS; The memory or SD cards have permitted me to have the capacity to save all our film footage precisely and dependably and has enough memory to permit us to film for quite a while without getting to be full. They are little yet have significant impact in our equipment.  DRIVE/SSD;This is the feature drive and permits you to additionally spare any work or shooting you have done. it is similar to a memory card , however this lets us work on it and has much more space than the SD Card .LIGHTING;The lighting will help the audience to have the capacity to see the film legitimately when it completed. We used the  dido  lights as this allowed this to be done well and we could changed the lighting  .

GARAGE BAND;Garage band let us make create different types of music that would our title sequence. We use Garage band as this will allow us to create the sympatic music we will need due to all the diffrent loops avaliable , and that are at our disposal Motion ;Motion is a decent altering program that will help make our title arrangement look proficient and more sensible when we alter our recording. Motion helped add to our title grouping in light of the fact that motion has several title sequence which help make a film more expert looking which aides build up our  sequence  . FINAL CUT PRO;This is additionally a decent altering system and this will help us to alter the majority of our footage that we have shot. This will be utilized towards the end of the venture. Final cut pro also helps our project because without this we would not be able to to edit our film into the correct way.Using Transitions and it will help us order the clips in the correct way and add effects to the video , it also all quite easy to operate . 

Blogging Health check 2

This was assessed by my teacher Dan , who stated ' Enjoyable account of filming posted - good work but I'd like to see an individual account by you.' In response to this feedback I will have more  individualized  Vlogs explaining my  experiences  and contributions to certain sessions .  Dan also suggested A "footage review" blog  - just so I  can tell that your footage does what is necessary, and you can see if I need to reshoot.  This will be done after shooting sessions as this is when we  evaluate  and assess the footage , I will also post Blogs on other  technology use during the process such as Video Compressors .

title sequence ideas and experimentation and how to make titles in motion

The footage shown is us experimenting in the programme motion , this is used to make very professional titles and gives us great results . This is vital as we are creating a title sequence , and the titles we have used , demonstrate the urgency we wanted to create in this .

What we did today (4/2/2015)

Today in lesson , we made multiple blog posts, these included our inspiration and what else we had accomplished  . We uploaded our video footage to final cut pro this allowed us to view the footage we can use and the non useable footage , this allowed us to edit the footage and grasp how long the title sequence will be and how the shows will flow and lead into each other. We had a motion tutorial this allowed to gain a understanding of how motion works , this allows us to create titles , which is vital for for our title sequence , and allows us to create professional titles , this is a valid tool which will be utilised very well .

28. 3 media texts that have influenced

Our main influence was the 'se7en' shows the audience the obsessive Behaviour of the character .   It fills the audience with a sense of horror to the audience , but it is intriguing. It establishes the mood of the film and the personality in a unique , which we hope incorporate in our film .

Another Influence of ours was a music video called  Ed Sheeran - A team . This is based poverty and living homeless , this is also what our title sequence is based on .The conventions of living homeless are portrayed really well , in  this music video , we hope to take these conventions and manipulate them to ourself .  In this music video , there was a very good Time Lapse , which inspired us to do so .

The Exciting edge in this title , for a small time band. This edge is the exact emotion would like to capture and use in our title sequence .

Feedback Analysis

These were the feedback concerns;

If it is possible to film at Tower Bridge because of the security.

We decided to not film Tower Bridge we thought that it unnecessary.

How are you going to represent the violence in the title sequence?

We will use violent related objects such as a belt or a beer bottle

What if the title sequence will be too long?

We would have to edit bit out to make it shorter in duration and more effective to the audience.
