Science Fiction
- Futuristic settings, sciene and technology
(such as Roswell, Kyle XY and Star-Crossed)
Action/Adventure
- An exciting undertaking involving risk and physical danger
(such as Smallville)
Fantasy
- uses magic and other supernatural phenomena as a primary plot element.
(such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Teen Wolf and The Vampire Diaries)
Mystery
- focuses on the efforts of the detective, private investigator or amateur sleuth to solve the mysterious circumstances of a crime by means of clues, investigation, and clever deduction.
(such as Veronica Mars and Pretty Little Liars).
